Derek D. Simmons

Professional Experience

Derek joined the firm in 2002 after a two-year clerkship with Judge David Brewer of the Oregon Court of Appeals. Derek practices in the areas of business law, health law, and litigation.

Professional and Community Activities

Derek is a member of the Oregon State Bar, and he is a member and past President of the Douglas County Bar. Derek represents the firm as a member of the Roseburg Downtown Association and the Roseburg Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Derek serves as a member of the board of the Boys & Girls Club of the Umpqua Valley and the Advisory Committee for the Douglas Community Fund, and he enjoys community service through the Rotary Club of Roseburg. He donates blood regularly to the American Red Cross--more than five gallons to date, and counting.

Derek is a graduate of the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce's Project Leadership (2003), the Oregon State Bar Leadership College (2007), and the inaugural class of the Ford Institute Leadership Program in Roseburg (2009).
